ABSTRACT: Students in Taiwan often encounter difficulty in writing papers in English. This workshop is designed to address the issue by attempting to tackle the following questions: What is the logic of paragraph writing in English? How can we avoid Chinglish? How can we write a good abstract in English? The speaker will firstly use examples to demonstrate the basic logic of English writing and then discuss how to write right words, phrases, and sentences. In the final session of this hands-on workshop, abstracts will be analyzed to show students how to translate the concepts formed in Chinese into words written down in English.
