Abstract
Adiabatic quantum-flux-parametron (AQFP) logic, known as a parametron-based digital logic using superconducting Josephson junctions, can offer extremely high energy efficiency for building high-performance computing systems. With resistance-less wires, ultrafast switches, and nearly zero operational energy loss, these superconducting logic circuits can operate at clock frequencies from 5 GHz to 10 GHz.
In this talk, we will provide an overview of the AQFP technology, in terms of the fundamental principle, some physical demonstrations and a framework of the top-down design flow.
Biography
Olivia Chen received her Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan in 2017. Currently she is an assistant professor in the Institute of Advanced Sciences at Yokohama National University. Her research focuses on high-performance computing using superconducting electronics. Her research interests also include beyond-CMOS devices and circuits, design automation and deep-learning acceleration using superconducting electronics.
