Abstract:

In this talk, I will mention some classical problems in discrete geometry area. For instance, the sphere packing problems and kissing number problems were considered couple of hundred years ago. Recently, sphere packing problems were solved for dimension 8 and 24. Both of the results were published in the top math journals, Annals of Math. I will also discuss the maximum s-distance sets problems and talk about my contribution to these problems. In particular, I will talk the new result of maximum spherical three-distance sets in 23 dimensional Euclidean space jointly working with Feng-Yuan Liu who is the jointly advised graduate student with Che-Rung Lee.
