The Computer Vision team in the Microsoft AI R&D Center in Taiwan is a team of researchers and engineers working on algorithms, tools, and experiences around practical applications of computer vision that powers Windows, Azure, and more. We are looking for a Masters/PhD intern to help solve challenging practical research problems we encounter while building our products and services.
The internship will focus on a research topic in one of the following areas:
• Computer vision and machine learning
• Deep learning with synthetically generated data
• Face recognition and verification
• Optical character recognition
• Natural language processing and understandings
• Crowdsourcing

Responsibilities
• Quickly ramp up and understand the scope and challenges of developing robust computer vision applications that can be used in practice
• Design, implement and integrate proof of concepts for developing computer vision systems
• Prototype different ideas for computer vision R&D to generate high quality results
• Research new ideas in computer vision, find insights to support business decisions and publish high impact papers
• Work closely with researchers to gather and iterate on feedback and requirements
• Apply machine learning techniques to solve challenging computer vision problems
Requirements
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals and mastery of statistical concepts
• Programming experience with C++/Java/C#/ Python or equivalent
• Enjoy working with large-scale data and possess a mixture of software engineer and data scientist mindset
• Excellent communication skills and desire to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Ability to work independently and ramp-up to new areas quickly
Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years programming experience with C++/Java/C#/Python or equivalent
• Student currently pursuing Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing
• Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science, Information Technology or other quantitative disciplines, with publications in top conferences/journals, like CVPR, EECV, ICCV, ICML, EMNLP, ACL, etc.
• Experience with deep learning platforms, such as PyTorch
• Able to work at least 3 full days per week.

按經濟部技術處「A+企業創新研發淬鍊計畫 – 全球研發創新夥伴計畫」係以產業政策為導向，盤點我國產業研發能力升級之缺口與需求，連結我國業者與具有互補互利關係之外國企業建立合作夥伴關係，在國內共同研發。
「台灣人工智慧台灣研發中心」係經台灣微軟股份有限公司(下稱台灣微軟)依法申請，並獲經濟部同意依「A+企業創新研發淬鍊計畫 – 全球研發創新夥伴計畫」提供補助款之特定期間政府科技專案計畫(下稱專案計畫)。
「台灣人工智慧台灣研發中心」依經濟部「A+企業創新研發淬鍊計畫 – 全球研發創新夥伴計畫」審核同意之專案計畫內容，其中包括將延攬多位本國研發人才，進行人工智慧人才培育，以期結合國內產學研發人才，共同提升台灣人工智慧研發之能量與影響力，提升國內產業國際能見度及國際競爭力。
基於上述專案計畫內容，台灣微軟將依「台灣人工智慧台灣研發中心–台灣境內大專院校碩博士班在校生實習方案」，聘僱台灣各大專院校符合下列資格之碩博士班在校生，提供限定之實習名額，讓青年學子能有機會於世界級科技公司之人工智慧研發現場，以職場實作之方式進行實習。
為能嘉惠較多之本土學界人工智慧人才，並考量碩博士在校生仍須兼顧學業，「台灣人工智慧台灣研發中心–台灣境內大專院校碩博士班在校生實習方案」之實習期間，最長不超過1年。
