Abstract:

This speech explores the learning journey of Capture the Flag (CTF) expertise, examining strategies, learning methods, and Unix security examples. It covers the essence of CTF competitions, detailing methodologies for skill escalation from scratch. Additionally, it showcases instances of binary exploration, demonstrating expertise in identifying program vulnerabilities for information extraction or system control. The aim is to provide a more comprehensive understanding of CTF.

Bio:

Yi-Hsin Lyu is a Master's Degree Program in Cybersecurity in Computer Science at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. His fervor for computer security has led him into the competitive realm of CTF competitions, where he hones his skills through rigorous challenges. Mr. Lyu not only shares his experiences playing CTFs and explores the intricacies of UNIX programming-related challenges but also contributes to the community by offering lectures on CTF problem-solving courses and sharing his expertise with others.
