Title: Beyond the AI Hype: Why Data Science Still Matters
Synopsis: This masterclass looks beyond the AI hype to examine why data science remains a key foundation of data-driven work today. While AI systems promise automation and intelligence, their effectiveness depends on sound data practices and statistical reasoning. Drawing on real-world examples, the session illustrates what data science work typically involves—from problem framing and data preparation to evaluation and communication of insights. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how data science supports modern analytics and AI-enabled roles, and why these skills remain relevant across industries.
