Abstract: The practice of (big) data analytics aims at discovering patterns and trends and making predictions that are made possibly only by sifting through vast amounts of data (as opposed to statistical methods on sample data). In this talk I will share my view on the recent development in data analytics. In addition I will provide example applications of certain mathmatic techniques such as  singular value decomposition and their linkage.
