Speaker Bio:

  Dr. Richard Chuang is an IoT Solutions Architect of Intel Corporation focusing on Intel IoT End-to-End solutions – from end devices, gateway to the cloud. He also serves as a Scientist-in-Resident of Intel-NTU Connected Context Computing Center. His current role is to form scalable, manageable and secured IoT end-to-end solutions for various application verticals, including their sub-vertical solutions. He was a research scientist and technology strategist in Intel Labs before he took his current architect role. His research interests include wireless communication, IoT/M2M and wearable solutions, cloud infrastructure, computational intelligence and FPGA/SoC rapid prototyping. Prior to joining Intel, Richard was a post-doctoral researcher at National Taiwan University, and he led research efforts that focused on delivering solutions for IoT-based smart grids, industrial automation and remote sensing services. Richard holds 8 patents and published more than 80 journal/proceeding papers. His research results have been featured and reported by BBC News, Discovery Channel, EE Times, New Scientists and local medias in Taiwan. Richard holds two doctorate degrees in biomedical engineering and biomechatronics engineering from National Taiwan University.
