Abstract:

Face recognition (FR) has been the prominent biometric technique for identity authentication and has been widely used in many areas, such as military, finance, public security and daily life. FR has also been one of the most important research topics in the filed of Computer Vision and Machine Learning. In this talk, we will review the recent advancement of the machine learning technique for FR, especially in the field of AI and deep learning. Some of the important FR dataset which is publicly available will be introduced in this talk too.

Bio:

  Prof. Yung-Hui Li received the B.S. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1995, the M.S. degree from the Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree from the Lanague Technology Institute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 2010.
  He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University. His current research interests include: AI and deep learning, computer vision, biometrics recognition, especially in the field of iris recognition, medical and biomedical signal processing and automatic optical inspection for industrial 4.0.
